The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) is looking for new colleagues to join its existing team at the Royal Falkland Islands Police (RFIP).
This role is a unique opportunity to live and work overseas in a beautiful and vibrant island community.
THE POST
An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Royal Falkland Islands Police (RFIP) for a positive and dynamic Trainer Police Constable, with recent policing experience, to join the team. This is a fixed contract for up to four years and RFIP would be keen to appoint as soon as possible.
The Opportunity: To be part of a dedicated team, providing a 24/7 emergency and public protection service to the Falkland Islands community. Your duties will vary and will include a wide range of interesting challenges to maintain low crime rates, contributing to the prevention of incidents through thorough investigation and the detection of crime. In addition, you will manage the Royal Falklands Islands Police Training School. Essential criteria for the role include being a UK Police accredited trainer with a recognised teaching qualification (Police Now Train the Trainer experience will be considered) or UK Armed Forces Police equivalent, experience of training student officers/probationers within the last three years or UK Armed Forces Police equivalent and strong communication skills including the ability to speak, read and write English competently i.e. speaks clearly and concisely, and does not use jargon.
BACKGROUND
The RFIP has a long and proud history of serving the Falkland Islands Community. Formed in 1846, the Service is undergoing dynamic change, and this is your opportunity to be part of the RFIP policing team. You will meet many challenges as a Trainer Police Constable, dealing with a wide variety of work, ranging from community policing and playing an integral part in improving RFIP.
With a significant military presence on the island, you will benefit from a close working relationship with the Joint Services Police Support Unit.
