Each tenant has their own self-contained purpose built flat and we provide 24 hour outreach via access to emergency phone support.</p>\n<p><strong>As an Assistant Support Worker you will;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to support their aspirations and maximise their independence.</li>\n<li>You will not be providing personal care but your role will involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.</li>\n<li>Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you \"being the difference\".</li>\n<li>Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual`s needs.</li>\n<li>Full valid drivers licence.</li>\n<li>Use of a car for work purposes during shift.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>About You;</strong></p>\n<p>You do not need sector experience as we provide a structured induction, comprehensive training and on the job support to enable you to excel within your role and you will have the opportunity to gain an accredited vocational qualification as well as gain experience and exposure to the wider care support Hightown offers.</p>\n<p>We are looking for passionate people who care about others and have a can-do, common sense attitude to their life and who are driven by the desire to make a difference to real lives. You will have the ability to recognise the wishes and needs of vulnerable adults and communicate effectively using different methods according to peoples needs.</p>\n<p><strong>Additionally you will also be able to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work shifts as part of a rota system which will include weekend and bank holiday working</li>\n<li>Perform at least one sleep in per week as part of your shift (allowance of £51.78 paid) </li>\n<li>Work as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we support</li>\n<li>Be flexible in your approach to work and demonstrate resilience in a challenging, but rewarding environment</li>\n<li>Have a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with mental disabilities</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>It is also essential that you hold a full UK driving licence and are happy to do sleep-ins (minimum one per week)</strong>.</p>\n<p><strong>About Us</strong></p>\n<p>At Hightown, we`re a charitable housing association that builds homes and supports people.
