We are recruiting a Senior Community Services Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Our Day Opportunities Service are looking to recruit a permanent Senior Community Services Officer. You will support our Development and Engagement Managers in ensuring that service provision for Older Persons and Adults with a Learning Disability continually develops and remains responsive to current and future demand.
You will manage a Team of staff working in our Community Team. The Community Team provides sessional support for Individuals to access activities of their choice within their local communities. You will be based at Ystrad Mynach Resource Base but will also be required to work across different locations during the working week.
You will provide day-to-day management for a team of staff ensuring service provision meets the assessed outcomes of Individuals. It is therefore essential that you have good leadership and interpersonal skills, are motived and committed and have a flexible approach to duties.
The service is working towards providing weekend and early evening support and you may be required to work on a rota basis as and when required.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, Health and Social Care (Adults), Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults), Care, Promoting Independence.
- City and Guilds Level 4 Preparing for Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards within a timescale agreed with line manager on appointment.
- The knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation e.g. Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act.
- Experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or older persons within a care setting.
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving license to drive a Council (leased) vehicle to transport Individuals regularly throughout the day. To undertake the post, it is compulsory to pass a Council driving assessment determined by the insurance liabilities of the lease hire vehicle.
