What we’re looking for:

<li>HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.</li>
<li>Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational support role

<li>Experience working with students with SEMH and/or ASC needs.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of child development, autism strategies, and trauma-informed approaches.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of child development and the primary/secondary curriculum.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Ability to manage behaviour effectively and support diverse learning needs.</li>
<li>Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.</li>
<li>A proactive and positive approach to supporting student learning.</li>

Who are we?
Our specialist multi-disciplinary team of leaders, carers, therapists and educationalists work seamlessly together. They teach and proactively support pupils who have been subjected to adverse childhood experiences, including trauma, toxic stress and associated mental wellbeing difficulties, aiming to break the cycle of adversity. Children and young people may also come to us because they are challenged by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, and dyspraxia or moderate and specific learning difficulties.
High Peak School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
