We are flexible and open to discussions about your preferred working style, and if you wish to be in the office more frequently, this can be negotiated.</p><p>This role falls into the category of <strong> Flexible Worker</strong> which means you can expect to work in the following way:</p><ul>\n<li>2-3 days in the office or in schools.</li>\n<li>Works both from home and the office, depending on the task at hand.</li>\n<li>Training is provided to help balance work-life and manage time effectively, with an emphasis on communication for team touchpoints and planning in-office days for collaboration.</li>\n</ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making impact through psychology and who possesses the following skills and experience:</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>Nationally recognised postgraduate qualification in educational psychology.</li></ul><ul><li>Qualified EPs registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or trainee EPs in their final year of training who expect HCPC registration upon completion.</li></ul><ul>\n<li>Knowledge of a broad range of approaches to assessment and intervention, informed by current psychological research and practice.</li>\n<li>Understanding of and commitment to consultation as a framework for service delivery.</li>\n<li>Understanding of and commitment to supporting schools to achieve greater inclusion of children with special educational needs.</li>\n<li>Knowledge, understanding of and commitment to professional codes of ethics.</li>\n<li>Integrity - ability to be open and honest, to maintain high standards of personal behaviour and display strong moral principles.</li>\n<li>Accountability - willingness to take personal responsibility for your actions and decisions, and to understand the consequences of your behaviour.</li>\n<li>A demonstrable willingness to share information and work with other people, including the ability to listen, communicate with and understand others, taking account of other people’s points of view.</li>\n<li>Excellent inter-personal skills including ability to communicate well orally and in writing.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of the broad range of service users supported by the EPS, along with an understanding of the different needs across these groups.</li>\n<li>A demonstrable willingness to share information and work with other people.</li>\n</ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Desirable Criteria:</strong></p><ul>\n<li>Proven track record in supporting children looked after.</li>\n<li>Knowledge and awareness of national, regional, and international developments in Educational Psychology and Education in general.</li>\n<li>Desire and ability to contribute to ongoing service development.</li>\n<li>Competent research skills, data analysis, identification of trends and patterns to support the development of teaching and learning and/or the assessment of individual need.</li>\n<li>Outstanding organisational skills, an ability to plan ahead, make priorities, manage workload, allocate time and cope with stress.</li>\n<li>Strong professional commitment and the drive, enthusiasm, and energy to motivate others and manage change effectively.</li>\n</ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><p>At North Somerset Council, we value our employees and provide a supportive and inclusive work environment.
