This is an exciting opportunity to come and join our friendly Enforcement team following a restructure of the Development Management and Enforcement sections.
The post holder will play an important role in assessing potential breaches of planning control in Adur District and Worthing Borough on the south coast.
Working for the Councils provides a unique experience of working for two separate planning authorities combined as a joint service. It is an interesting time to work in Planning and Enforcement at the Councils; there are a number of planning challenges to be faced and a wide variety of enforcement investigations undertaken.
The area is subject to significant development challenges with a number of major regeneration schemes planned and so compliance with approved development is an important aspect of the work.
We are looking for someone with proven communication skills who has the ability to interpret detailed information received from a variety of sources, ideally with experience of working in a local authority enforcement department of similar role. The successful candidate will need to have a good knowledge of the planning system and the role of enforcement within it.
The post holder will need to demonstrate that they are able to work flexibly and be IT literate since the Council extensively uses digital platforms to provide its services.
For an informal discussion about these posts, please contact Gary Peck (Planning Services Manager) on 01903 221406.
