Our Regulatory Services has a strong record of taking a proactive enforcement stance and using their full range of skills in an effective and innovative way to secure improvements for residents in privately rented properties throughout the City.
We are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join us who is self-motivated, innovative, adaptable and flexible in their approach and are keen to develop their skillsets. The role is demanding and will require you to take personal responsibility for a wide and varied caseload and perform with a high level of professionalism. Working closely with other services within the Council and external partners you will help deliver an effective joined up Regulatory service by dealing with private rented sector enforcement issues and carrying out investigations.
The main duties for this post includes the ability to effectively carry out property inspections of residential properties and unlawful dwellings in accordance with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System, (HHSRS) and to take appropriate action in each case to bring about a satisfactory conclusion.
