West Northamptonshire Council has created a new team focused on developing and delivering innovative flood and water drainage solutions. </ul>What will you be doing? <ul>
<li>Lead on&nbsp;technical assessments and advice to Local Planning Authorities on the suitability of surface water drainage proposals for new development,</li>
<li>Working with the Flood &amp; Water Manager to ensure&nbsp;the Council (as Lead Local Flood Authority) continues to fulfil its role as statutory consultee in the planning system.</li>
<li>Lead and provide professional technical responses to development applications ensuring that drainage systems are sustainable and sufficiently effective in protecting communities from flooding.</li>
<li>Liasing with applicants to promote the implementation of sustainable drainage systems on new developments.</li>
<li>Work with developers and landowners to regulate activity on ordinary watercourses, ensuring that the designs of works are appropriate, sustainable, and do not adversely impact flow within watercourses.</li>
<li>Deputising for the Flood &amp; Water Manager when required.&nbsp;</li>
