In this role, you’ll investigate and manage noise and nuisance cases in the commercial sector, from initial complaint through to resolution and potential court proceedings. You’ll also prepare reports and respond to Members’ and public enquiries. The essential requirement for the Senior/Environmental Protection Officers roles are as follows;
Environmental Protection Officer&nbsp;(PO1 &amp; PO2)
PO1 - Requires experience in environmental noise and nuisance investigations, including enforcement, as well as consulting on Licensing applications.
PO2 - Requires experience in environmental noise and nuisance investigations and consulting on Planning, Licensing, and Prior Consent s.61 applications. An IOA Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement is desirable.
Senior Environmental Protection Officer&nbsp;(PO3 &amp; PO4)
PO3 - Requires significant experience in environmental noise and nuisance investigations and enforcement. Must have the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
About Us:
PO4 - Requires extensive experience and knowledge in environmental noise and nuisance investigations and enforcement. Must have an accredited academic qualification (e.g., MSc, BSc (Hons), or Diploma) in Environmental Health approved by the Environmental Health Registration Board, or an MSc in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics or equivalent, is essential.

About the Role 
The Public Health Team within Regulatory Services is seeking an Environmental Protection Officer to join our frontline service. This role is key to protecting Enfield’s streets and public spaces by investigating complaints of domestic and commercial nuisances, filthy &amp; verminous premises, waste on private land and defective drainage. There will be an opportunity to gain experience in air quality, contaminated land and permitted premises. 
This is a varied and active role, where you will spend much of your week out on district, investigating complaints, gathering evidence, and taking enforcement action where appropriate. 
Who We’re Looking For 
We are seeking a motivated and proactive officer with strong investigative and enforcement skills. Experience of working within a local authority environmental protection / pollution team is desirable, but not essential.

 - Existing Technical Officers or Environmental Health Officers (newly qualified candidates will be considered or those wishing to complete their training to be registered with the CIEH).

Job DescriptionLead Officer – Domestic Nuisance and EP Public HealthBand: GSalary: £53,460 to £61,638 per annumPermanent Contract37 Hours per Week&nbsp;The post holder will be responsible for ensuring domestic nuisance and Environmental Protection (EP) public health responsibilities / statutory duties are effectively completed on behalf of the council, and that the team meets its performance targets in this area.You must be a good leader with comprehensive EP domestic nuisance and public health knowledge to effectively support, lead and supervise ward area officers within the team.&nbsp;The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that ward area officers follow robust operating procedures and keep these under routine review.
