We want you to be part of our new team that is tasked with making us a leading highway authority, efficiently managing, maintaining, and improving our network and supporting economic growth.<br><br>With a recently adopted 5-year Highways Asset Management Strategy and a significantly uplifted funding settlement, now is the perfect time to join us and support the Council during one of its most exciting phases of development, regeneration, and growth.<br><br>With a maintenance programme exceeding £30m and some of the region’s biggest transport schemes underway, the highways service has never had a more integral role to play.<br><br>We are looking to recruit a Road & Street Works Operative who will be required to assist the Highways Maintenance Team with all aspects relating to the management, improvement, and maintenance of the Highway.<br><br>They should be experienced in highways maintenance and possess the relevant skills to undertake a wide range of reactive maintenance activities such as tarmac, flagging, kerbing, and drainage repairs as well as other associated highway works i.e., installation of street furniture, ironwork, ancillary item.<br><br>Candidates must hold a current NRSWA qualification and have a knowledge of Chapter 8 signing, lighting, and guarding regulations.<br><br>A current driving licence is essential. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working in a similar setting and have suitable qualifications in animal care.</p>\n<p>An excellent communicator, you will be an enthusiastic ambassador for the Service and keen to inform visitors to the Botanic Gardens about the collection and related topics.</p>\n<p>Applicants should be capable of undertaking a range of practical tasks such as daily cleaning and general maintenance of the facility.
