Key responsibilities:

Candidate requirements:

About the Role: We are looking to recruit someone with a full HGV Class 2/C &amp; E driving licence to help us cover a variety of duties within Refuse &amp; Recycling. You will be working towards or willing to undertake CPC training.
As a Reserve Driver you will undertake the collection of waste and recycling within the borough of Reigate and Banstead. It is essential you have a flexible approach to the work and hours. Your main duty will be driving for us although when required, you must be willing to work as a loader covering any service within the Neighbourhood Services team.
Some of the duties include:

<li>Undertake either working alone or as part of a team, the collection of Waste and Recycling services at a variety of locations throughout the Borough.</li>
<li>Use the waste management systems (Bartec) to complete rounds and report issues.</li>
<li>Receive instructions regarding exempt collections, special arrangements and specific collection points and ensuring these are carried out.</li>
<li>When disposing of Waste, abide by the rules set out by the allocated transfer station.</li>
<li>Advise the public on the Borough’s Refuse, Recycling and Cleansing regime where necessary.</li>
<li>If no driving duties are available, undertake loading duties and undertake ad hoc duties as required, within the scope of the job.</li>

Pay Progression&nbsp;
The Commission is about to launch a new Pay Structure in July 2025 which introduces performance based pay progression depending on performance. Eligibility for the performance-based pay progression in April of the following year is dependent on having completed the required six months service at the progression rating date (31 January). The new structure allows the potential for pay progression on top of any inflationary increase for staff. The range below shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. The full width of the D1 Band starts at £52,420 and goes up to £69,893. Please note that the salary band for new staff is up to £55,041 and our default position is to appoint into the lower zone of the band unless there are exceptional circumstances.&nbsp;

Penrose Drive is a community setting, rather than custodial where residents can go out in the community if they do not have restrictions on their license. Security is therefore flexible in both design and operation. The team work in a multi disciplinary approach, working alongside probation services, job centres, mental health teams, and other community partners.&nbsp;
You will lead the team by providing line management and leadership support to enable and empower the team to deliver high quality support to our residents. You will ensure a quality service is delivered in line with our contractual requirements, and will encourage the creation of a psychologically informed environment, which provides person centred support. The role includes:

You will line manage a team of 2 peer support mentors. Our Peer Mentor role is designed for people who have lived experience of that faced by our residents. You will support with all aspects of line management and wellbeing support, ensuring they are well supported within their role.&nbsp;
As an Activities Coordinator, you will coordinate and deliver high quality activities and programmes which work in support to individual support places and goals, by creating a calendar of activities, celebrations, awareness months/days/weeks and events to encourage social skills and community engagement. You will also maintain effective stakeholder relationships, find new partnerships, and create a catalogue of partners which are easily accessible.&nbsp;

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Positive Engagement Worker to join our team based in Croydon which aims to deliver residential based support to people referred by South London and Maudsley Trust (SLaM). Our residents are referred to gain support with their Mental Health and other multiple complex needs. Our aim is to support them and help them prepare for independent living, whilst managing their individual risks. You will be at the heart of providing person centred support in a tailored way, to help our residents improve their quality of life, and achieve their personal goals through providing flexible support.&nbsp;
In this role, you will be at the centre of researching, sourcing, and providing various opportunities for our residents. This can include partnering with external employers for employment opportunities, liaising with colleges for courses and upskilling opportunities, or community based projects which residents can get involved in. The role is dynamic and you can put your own ideas forward to bring new ideas to the team to help support our residents have access to wider resources. You will work closely with the rest of the care and support teams to enhance the opportunities available to our residents.&nbsp;
You will work directly with our residents to support them to overcome their personal barriers and challenges to achieve positive outcomes. You will do this through one to one support sessions, group sessions and activities, and general support with their daily living.
The role further includes:

What we’re looking for:

<li>A teaching degree or equivalent and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)</li>
<li>Someone with significant experience in working with children with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and be confident in its application</li>
<li>An ability to work with sensitivity and positivity to ensure every pupil can thrive</li>
<li>Strong skills in school improvement planning, monitoring, and reviewing progress are essential</li>
<li>The ability to analyse SEND data and communicate your findings to both educational and non-educational staff.</li>

Fernways School is an independent specialist school which supports children and young people with an autism spectrum condition, the school has a lovely location in Windlesham, Surrey. Our focus is on maximising every child’s potential to develop into a confident, resilient, and skilled young person who will make a positive contribution to society and live as independent a life as possible.
Fernways School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
