Estates Surveyor and Team Leader (COTD089)
Salary: Up to £38,789 pa plus £5K market supplement

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estates Surveyor to be the Council’s technical advisor, as well leading our dedicated Estates team. You will be responsible for making the Council aware of all aspects of its landed estate and ensuring it is run efficiently and cost effectively.

Further responsibilities include identifying investment opportunities and projects to maximise income from the Councils’ property portfolio, as well as investigating the delivery of development sites and opportunities to secure capital receipts.

Your main focus in this new role will be the preparation, maintenance and implementation of the Corporate Property Strategy. You will regularly provide appropriate estates and valuation advice to other Business Units and the Council’s development partners, so thorough knowledge is essential, and you will also be responsible for overseeing the work, managing and supporting your team.

You will be an enthusiastic, committed individual with proven experience of working corporately at a management level, as well as dealing with capital projects, investment and effective in-house estates.

The role also involves communicating Council priorities to local communities and partner agencies as well as delivering effective procurement, contractor management and reporting to a public forum. As the right candidate you will be working in one of the largest areas of potential growth in the South East

Your focus will be on the delivery of key outcomes and experience of working in the public sector, although desirable, is not essential.
