Commercial Property Estates Surveyor required for Brighton & Hove City Council. The council has a property portfolio valued at just under £2 billion of which over 1,000 assets are managed by the council's internal estates team. A varied and interesting role has arisen for the management of both the investment and operational estate. This is an exciting and diverse role working as part of a small team to deliver effective management of the property portfolio to meet the aims of the Corporate Asset Management Plan.

The estates team provides strategic advice across the council to a wide range of council services, assisting with service delivery plans that require proactive asset management. The role offers a genuinely interesting workload and a fantastic opportunity to gain commercial property experience and support the local economy and community.

Your application should detail your skills and experience in estate management, in particular with reference to the work of the estates team which includes:
• Landlord and Tenant
• Disposals and Acquisitions
• Leasing and Letting
• Asset reviews and optimisation
• Wide range of negotiations on all forms of estate management
• Valuation and development appraisals
Salary range for a fully qualified candidate is £30,785 to £33,437 (M11) plus a Market Supplement of up to £5,000 payable to be reviewed after 1 year. We would also like to encourage candidates working towards MRICS status to apply and will be considered on salary SO1/2 (£25,951 - £30,153). Training and support provided for completion of the APC and Job Description and Person Spec available on request.
