Adur and Worthing Councils are committed to working with our residents to prevent and relieve their homelessness and to support them to lead positive, healthy and independent lives.
The Housing Needs Team is recruiting for an experienced and motivated homelessness officer to work with our residents at risk of, or already homeless. The post holder will need to be empathetic, adaptable, motivated and able to work creatively, under pressure, independently, as part of a team and with multiple stakeholders and partners.
The role requires working with a variety of client groups with varying needs, some with multiple needs and behaviours that can be challenging; some being victims and perpetrators of serious crime. The post holder will be responsible for assessing and discharging the council's statutory duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act, devising personalised housing plans to prevent and relieve homelessness.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Basic DBS clearance and three years employment referencing.
