The role involves delivering arts-based interventions aimed at supporting participants in their personal development, family relationships, and rehabilitation. You will be based at HMP Lowdham Grange, where you will develop collaborative partnerships with colleagues at the Visitors' Centre, as well as with key prison teams, wing staff, and, most importantly, the programme participants. </p>\n<p>SIG Safe Ground is a nationally recognised and award-winning arts organisation, specialising in the design and delivery of impactful, arts-based therapeutic group interventions. With nearly three decades of experience, we have established ourselves as leaders in transforming lives within both prison and community settings. You will be able to use group work, arts, and drama techniques to support participants to rehearse new behaviours and experience alternative perspectives. You will have excellent communication skills, and support skills. </p>\n<p><strong>What we are looking for:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Background in arts education, dramatherapy, applied theatre or equivalent </li>\n<li>Practical experience and/or knowledge on group work facilitation</li>\n<li>Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds</li>\n<li>IT proficiency, able to learn new software. Confidence in Microsoft packages</li>\n<li>Resonance with Safe Ground and Social Interest Group values</li>\n<li>Understanding and/or experience working with therapeutic groupwork techniques, be able to deliver this to others</li>\n<li>Ability to follow organisational policies and process in line with external governance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What we would like, but not essential:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience within a prison or other criminal justice setting and/or within a similar role</li>\n<li>Previous experience in a similar organisation/industry/role</li>\n<li>Understanding/experience working with therapeutic groupwork techniques</li>\n<li>Ability to positively persuade, empower, and influence others</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create and deliver engaging high-quality programmes which support rehabilitation, reintegration, and reablement for participants within the prison at various stages of their personal journey.</li>\n<li>Coordinate all aspects of promotion, recruitment and evaluation of programmes.</li>\n<li>Develop content and deliver this to different learning needs and styles.</li>\n<li>Co-Facilitate workshops and activities to support rehabilitation, combining arts-based interventions with course delivery.</li>\n<li>Collect and manage feedback, using this to continuously improve content and programmes. </li>\n<li>Support with all aspects of risk management, information management, and case recording as needed.</li>\n<li>Admin will vary.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. </p>\n<p><strong>Please refer to the JDPS attached for more details on the vacancy and our requirements/key criteria.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT US</strong></p>\n<p>Social Interest Group (SIG) believes good care and support improve lives.
