About You
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a professional finance service in line with the Council’s corporate plan and policies, International Financial Reporting Standards and CIPFA’s code of Practice for Local Government Accounting across all areas of the Council. You will assist with processes such as budget setting, monitoring and year-end closedown, undertake various reconciliations, maintain recharge models, and line manage a small and committed team.
The successful candidate will be AAT qualified as a minimum (or have a higher CCAB qualification) and have recent and relevant demonstrable experience within a financial environment. While we welcome applicants from a range of sectors, you will need to be able to demonstrate awareness of the implications of working within a public sector environment, how this affects financial management and planning arrangements, and have a good understanding of relevant legislation and regulations. But above all else, if you have excellent organisation and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work as part of a team as well as managing team members effectively, then we want to hear from you.
