The successful candidate will be part of the inter-disciplinary Youth Justice Service and will deliver our offers to young people who are at the edge of care, those at risk of involvement with gangs and serious youth violence and those who have been involved in the criminal justice system</p> <p>Newham Youth Justice Service aims to continue to be a centre of excellence for Children and their families within the foundations of the ‘Newham Together’ model (based on Co-Production, Curiosity, Compassion, Confidence, Clarity and Community).   With the support of the YJS Head of Service, Team Managers and Youth Justice Officers you will provide direct services to children at risk of offending supporting their families and victims of crime through a systemic approach to delivery. We ensure that services are available to support children and their families whilst ensuring the needs of victims and our community is a priority, and that people of Newham are at the heart of everything we do. </p> <p>We are therefore seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic Youth Justice Senior Practitioner as Project Lead for our ‘Engage’ intervention.  As project lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of practitioners based in custody, completing data returns for funders, developing the project management and working with Team Managers and Head of Service to ensure the delivery of the project. </p> <p>Apply now, and be part of our success.</p> <p><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></p> <p>Applicants will have knowledge of the legislation relating to children including the Children’s Act 1989 and 2004, Crime and Disorder Act 1989, Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012.
