This opportunity is currently being offered on a fixed term contract basis of 24 months; however, if budgets allow the contract length may be extended and/or become permanent, though this is not guaranteed. We are looking for two highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join our Trading Standards team.
These posts will build upon our established work, protecting consumers and legitimate businesses across Medway.
We are looking for people with strong communication skills who can comfortably work with our partners, both internal and external to the council.
These positions will be for an initial period of 24 months, with a view to being made permanent subject to funding.
To be considered for one of these posts you will need to have extensive investigatory experience in a regulatory role, with a thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice, such as PACE, RIPA, CPIA and the Protection of Freedoms Act.
These roles will afford the successful candidates the opportunity to be involved in other aspects of Trading Standards work on a day-to-day basis.
Medway Council has a career grade for Trading Standards Officers and your starting salary will be dependant of qualifications, experience and competences.
These positions allow for the successful candidates to work from home for part of the week, subject to operational needs with the main office base being Deangate Ridge, Hoo.
You must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle, that is insured for business use, for which the appropriate allowance will be paid.
