We are seeking an experienced Planning Officer to join our Planning Policy team on a fixed term contract for up to one year.
About the role….
We care passionately about planning positively for the sustainable growth of Rutland and are looking to enhance our Planning Policy team to deliver our Local Plan. You will be joining the team at a crucial time in the delivery of our ambitious plans for growth, giving you the opportunity to further your knowledge and experience in a senior position.
About you….
Enthusiastic and motivated, you will be keen to broaden your experience in all areas of planning policy, with the scope to take on greater leadership and management. A good communicator, you will bring clarity to complex information and be committed to delivering an excellent standard of customer care. Able to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines, you will take responsibility for delivering against objectives.
Qualified to degree level in planning or a related subject with eligibility of membership for the RTPI, you will have a good knowledge and experience of current planning issues and legislation. An understanding and practical experience of working with Local Plans, Section 106 and the Community Infrastructure Levy would also be useful. Strong IT skills, ideally with experience of using mapping and GIS tools, will be essential as is a keen eye for detail.
