Medway Adult Education are seeking a Business &amp; Finance Support Officer to join the team at level A. This is the entry point of the role, so you will need to be able to demonstrate the relevant knowledge, experience and skills to get you started, but you will be supported to develop in your role through induction, probation and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation. All elements of level A listed within the person specification are essential. Through your induction you will be introduced to the Career Progression Framework (CPF), which will help you to identify your areas of strength and any development needs. The role will support a busy finance team providing timely and high standards of customer service to schools and other Council staff in respect of payments to schools and dealing with queries and other finance related tasks. Key duties include: 
 
 - Calculating and updating monthly payments to schools using the Council's schools advances system 
 - Completing financial reconciliations and ensuring that any imbalances are investigated and resolved 
 - Checking and following up on monthly and quarterly schools finance returns 
 - Liaising with Council staff and schools to deal with queries 
 - Pro-actively seeking opportunities to improve processes 
 
To be suitable for the role you need to have strong numeracy and literacy skills, have good attention to detail and work accurately. You will also have good IT skills, specifically using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and accounting skills.
