This is an opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most while contributing to the financial health and efficiency of our local authority.In this role, you will; [As a Court of Protection Officer, you will follow the guidance of the Office of the Public Guardian to ensure compliance of the Court Order for Property and Financial Affairs Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Manage financial affairs, including bank accounts, bill payments, benefit collection, and property management.</li><li>Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements set by the Court of Protection.</li><li>Prepare and submit annual accounts and reports to the Office of the Public Guardian.</li><li>Liaise with care providers, social workers, and legal professionals to advocate for the best interests of the individuals.</li><li>Identify and recover debts owed to the authority by individuals under protection.</li><li>Maximise benefits and allowances for individuals, increasing funds managed by the authority.</li><li>Efficiently manage properties owned by individuals under protection, including potential leasing or selling</li></ul>Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.Work StyleAt North Somerset Council, we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles. Can you contribute to public confidence in the Council?
We’re looking for a new Independent Member to join our Audit Committee.
This Committee reviews the effectiveness of our governance and risk management arrangements.
As an Independent member on the Committee, you will serve an important role bringing independent scrutiny to the Committee’s work.
You’ll need to have the skills and experience in one or more of the following areas: local government, governance, audit, finance risk management and internal control. You should also have a connection with the Sevenoaks District, for example living or working here. You’ll need to attend around four evening committee meetings each year.
The post is not open to anyone who is, or has within the last five years, been a Sevenoaks District Councillor or employee or has close relatives or friends at the Council.
This post pays an annual allowance of £800 plus expenses. The appointment will be for up to four-years.

This role is pivotal in providing business support to the wider Financial Services Team and to colleagues across the Council.&nbsp; Experience in accounts payable and administrative experience would be advantageous.
As a Financial Services Support Officer, you will carry out a variety of financial administrative and processing duties to help support the Financial Services Team.&nbsp; Your day-to-day duties will include answering phones, responding to emails, processing invoices and payments, and data entry.&nbsp; The post holder will be required to work to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and have excellent communication skills.
