We have an opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will ensure the reliable and efficient running of the academy’s accounting systems and the processing of all documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.
You don’t need to have worked in a school environment before but a passion for helping improve the education of our students through providing high quality finance support is desirable.
There is flexibility regarding the working hours, patterns, during the week and weeks in the year for suitable candidate.

About this Role
We are seeking a professional, highly organised Finance Assistant to join the team at Frances Bardsley Academy &amp; The Bridge. In this vital role, you will support both the Finance Officer and the Hub Operations Manager as a key member of the Finance and Operations Team for our Havering Secondary Hub. Reporting directly to the Finance Officer, you will play an important part in ensuring the smooth financial running of the schools. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical skills and a friendly, approachable manner to contribute to a supportive and dynamic school community.
The successful candidate will:
<ul>
<li>Process purchase orders for the school - obtaining the ‘best value’ quotations and availability where appropriate.</li>
<li>Place orders via the company's online portals</li>
<li>Identify and notify incoming deliveries for the school</li>
<li>Update computerised records for Goods Received Notes</li>
<li>Deal with any returns and damaged goods</li>
<li>Chase-up on back orders and undelivered services (Review the ‘Current Commitment’ report throughout the month to ensure everything is being captured for month-end)</li>
<li>Process Non-Order invoices and obtain the relevant budget holder approval.</li>
<li>Obtain quotes for school trips and reflecting travel, student data entry, and running trip reports for trip leads</li>
<li>Assist the Finance Officer and Hub Operations Manager with general duties</li>
<li>The successful candidate will be based at Frances Bardsley Academy and become part of an oversubscribed, flourishing school for girls aged 11 to 18, with confident, courteous, articulate students and an ethos in empowerment.&nbsp; The school has&nbsp;a positive environment, with dedicated and supportive colleagues who strive for excellence.</li>
