The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work at our award winning Salt Ayre Leisure Centre, supporting the business finance and administration of the Centre including updating cost sheets, processing invoices, overtime processing, onboarding new gym users, calling non users, attending events and working with reception and gym teams to maximise the most for each members usage of the leisure centre.
We have two posts available, both permanent, working 20 hours per week, on a shift rota basis including evenings and weekends.

What You’ll Do
As a CIPFA trainee, you’ll rotate across key areas of the Finance Service over a 3–4 year period, gaining hands-on experience in: budget support to services; closure of accounts; finance systems; and internal audit.
You’ll provide financial advice to budget holders and senior managers, helping to shape decisions that affect the borough.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated graduate with:

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the finance service, for a Finance Manager to support the Education Excellence service.&nbsp; This challenging and key role will give you the opportunity to be a lead business partner on all aspects of operational financial management issues within this service.
Reporting to the Strategic Finance Manager – Education Excellence, and as a key member of the corporate finance team, as Finance Manager you will provide a collaborative and business partner approach to supporting the Education Excellence service, including schools. &nbsp;You will be required to liaise and work closely with senior members of the Education Excellence service to understand their business requirements and understand pressures facing the service, whilst ensuring that the service contributes to and works within the Council’s financial strategy.
The provision of first-class management information to inform decision making at a service level, enhanced with insight and expertise, will help you build effective and trusted relationships with senior officers of the service.
You should have in depth experience in a senior finance role, preferably within local government or the public sector, experience of staff management and a demonstrable record of supporting a complex service as well as a proven ability to adopt a business partnering approach.

You should have in depth experience in a senior financial manager role, preferably within local government or the public sector, experience of staff management at a senior level and a demonstrable record of completed projects of an original and technically challenging nature as well as a proven ability to lead transformation activity and manage organisational change and development within a financial / performance environment.
