All the academies are equal collaborators in school improvement and raising aspirations in young people to achieve great things academically and personally. Our collaboration of academies was borne out of our shared desire to create outstanding provision for all learners within our communities. Our vision and values focus on inclusion, aspiration and care for all our learners and staff.
\n
It is an exciting time to join Mersey View Learning Trust, at an early stage in the development of our Trust and a keenness to streamline processes, improve controls and bring efficiencies across all aspects of Trust finance. Having reviewed our central team operations, we are now adding capacity in Management Accounting.
\n
This is a true business partnering role in which you will have responsibility for timely and accurate Management Accounts production for the Trustees. Your other key stakeholders will be the members of the Central Trust Team, Headteachers and School Business Managers. You will be an excellent communicator and confident in explaining financial information to non-finance staff. To be successful in this post you will have an inquisitive nature, willing to persevere to get to the bottom of a problem and find a resolution.
\n
You will be a qualified accountant (or nearly/qualified by experience) with broad experience of accounting packages (we currently use Access for Education Finance and Budgets), excellent Excel and strong IT skills. Experience of working within a MAT environment would be beneficial but not crucial but you should have some experience of working in an educational setting. Also important is the ability to effectively manage your time on multiple tasks whilst achieving deadlines; willingness to learn and understand the multi-faceted pressures of the school environment; strong communication skills (both internal and external); attention to detail; and a positive outlook.
\n
The next 12 months will see a period of growth and change within the department, as our newly academised schools settle into our Trust and the central processes and procedures are refined and embedded and the successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute in this area. There is an opportunity for the right candidate to influence outcomes and enact real improvements.
\n
Mersey View Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils and expects those working at the Trust to share this commitment.
\n
The Trust is required under law and guidance to check the criminal background of all employees. Decisions to appoint will be subject to consideration of an Enhanced Disclosure, including a Barred List check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Because of the nature of the work for which you are applying this post is except from the rehabilitation of offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020).
\n
The amendments to the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provides that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered 'protected'. This means that they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. Guidance on whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website which can be accessed here:
\n
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-guidance-on-the-rehabilitation-of-offenders-act-1974
\n
Successful applicants will be required to complete a confidential medical questionnaire and may be required to undergo a medical examination.
\n
The Trust may carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence and in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. This may help identify incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online, which we may wish to explore with you at interview.
","shortDescription":"","salaryDescription":"Grade L SCP 43, £52,508","publishDate":"2025-02-05T11:22:00.000Z","expirationDate":"2025-02-20T09:00:00.000Z","logoUri":"https://www.jobsgopublic.com/logos/logos/3e0c8ea7-cca1-481a-b0e2-1ebf2cbe1c89.png","score":1,"featured":false,"enhanced":false},{"id":"bb40049e-3f8d-440b-9fd8-0cd692745f92","title":"Business Manager","employer":"Cheshire West & Chester Council","department":"Frodsham CE Primary School","location":"Frodsham CE Primary School","locationType":3,"description":"
Position advertised: School Business Manager AAAD5011
\n
Salary: Grade 7 (32 hours per week, 40 weeks per year)
\n
Actual Salary:                  £23,006.94 to £ 25,537.24
\n
We have an exciting opportunity for a School Business Manager to join our amazing team at Frodsham Church of England Primary School.
\n
Frodsham CE is a popular and successful primary school with fantastic children, dedicated staff, supportive governors and parents; situated in a lovely location with a welcoming local community.
\n
We are looking for a candidate who:
\n
\n
is professional, personable and highly organised;
\n
possesses excellent customer service;
\n
enjoys working individually and being part of a team;
\n
has excellent planning and organisational skills;
\n
works in an efficient and effective way to meet deadlines;
\n
has excellent written and verbal communication skills;
\n
is technically competent with all MS office packages;
\n
has experience of preparing and managing budgets and financial reporting;
\n
will support and embrace our Christian ethos;
\n
ultimately, will enjoy working in a busy school, making it the best it can be for our delightful children.
\n
\n
We can offer you in return:
\n
\n
a happy workplace with a friendly, positive team who support each other at all times;
\n
flexible working hours including opportunity to work part-time or from home 2 afternoons a week;
\n
access to ongoing professional development and qualifications via the apprenticeship levy;
\n
wellbeing support including family friendly leave, Working Rewards and Employee Assistance Programme providing 24/7 wellbeing support.
\n
\n
If you would like to come and see for yourself how great our school is and find out further information about this exciting position, then please email or phone the school office to arrange a visit; we would be delighted to meet you and show you around.
\n
Our school community places the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes, please see our safeguarding policy on our website. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
