Gaining valuable experience while working towards a fully funded CIPFA qualification, the successful candidate will provide financial business support in a developing role, including assisting in the production of management accounts, budgeting, final accounts, treasury management, and capital projects and to assist wider teams across the organisation.
With a degree or AAT Level 4 qualification, the successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of the Microsoft office suite and be able to maintain the highest degree of accuracy and integrity of financial information. The ability to work as part of a team is essential and you must be willing to study for full CIPFA qualification.

We are responsible for financial management and corporate accounting for a number of services across the council and work closely with budget holders to support the delivery of the corporate plan.This apprenticeship is run by Accountancy Learning who is responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. Your role will be linked to the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the apprenticeship standard and once you are competent in all these areas you will take an End Pont Assessment before successfully completing. You will receive support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.&nbsp;Delivery will be online, blended learning and you will have weekly meetings with your tutor, interactive learning sessions, workbooks, webinars as well as lots of learning opportunities in the workplace.You will gain knowledge in maintaining systems and accounting records, reconciliations, using IT systems, preparing and processing journals, budget setting, supporting colleagues and developing communication skills whilst gaining invaluable experience in the workplace in applying and putting this learning in practice.&nbsp;You will build and develop relationships with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders and work in a team to meet the requirements of the service/school.As well as the job related experience and apprenticeship qualification, you will receive all the benefits and opportunities of being an employee of Brighton &amp; Hove City Council, one of the City’s largest employers.
