Financial Services Manager

Hertsmere is an enterprising Council, striving to look for innovative ways to generate income. We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager who will bring innovation and commercial flair to the team and embrace the Council’s strategic agenda.

As a financially well managed and forward looking organisation, we are seeking a candidate with a similar commercial approach to finance who will seek to manage, deliver service improvements and tackle future challenges in an innovative way.

You will report to and deputise for the Head of Finance and Business Services and will be responsible for providing operational management to the financial services team and the delivery of all finance functions including financial accounting, financial management, treasury management, creditors, debtors and payroll.

You will provide advice and support to Members and senior officers on all aspects of financial strategy and policy at operational and strategic levels and contribute significantly to the effective financial reporting and management of the Council.

The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience at a senior level and exceptional technical experience, knowledge and ability. You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of financial reporting, financial management and control, managing operationally and will have the ability to lead and motivate a team.

This post is offered on a full time basis (36 hours per week).
