<h4>Job summary</h4><p><strong>Compliance Strategy Delivery (CSD) Directorate is a small flexible directorate at the centre of the Customer Compliance Group. We are currently finalising an organisation design exercise to consolidate and focus on our core responsibilities. </strong></p><p><strong>This exercise has limited impact on the SCS1 roles at a high-level and the roles would be expected to maintain some flexibility. <h4>Job summary</h4>This is a demanding and high profile SCS Pay Band One role requiring a strong operational focus. The role demands flexibility in responding to evolving requirements and managing resources for high-volume, dynamic operations across all UK Border Force sites and Juxtaposed Ports.<h4>Job description</h4><p>The post holder will report to the Director of Force Headquarters. The role will be the central point of co-ordination for national cross cutting operational issues for all of BF. It will be responsible for oversight of the strategic direction for the tasking of operational activity undertaken at the border across the Migration and Borders system.</p><p>This role will support the recently designed operational structure in Border Force. The post holder will take over leadership of several teams who lead on operational planning and performance reporting, and strategic and tactical national tasking as well as frontline guidance and directives. This directorate will be crucial to effective co-ordination and informed operational delivery across Border Force. The post holder will provide direct support to the Director General in his role as chair of the Strategic Tasking and Tactical Coordination meeting and will need to balance competing demands across operational areas, aligned with Home Office priorities.</p><p>The post holder will own the medium-term (4 weeks plus) forward planning for BF operations covering 140 ports across the UK and at Juxtaposed Controls in Europe. Providing oversight to the BF Board and supporting command leads in ensuring that Border Forces operational staff are effectively deployed across all areas. The post holder will also be responsible for working with key partners across the Home Office and wider to ensure Operational readiness to support mutual aid in times of national pressures / critical incidents as they arise. Do you have exceptional written and oral communication skills?</p><p>If so, we have an exciting opportunity for 3 Policy Advisors to join our team at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and we'd love to hear from you!</p><p>MHCLG plays an important role in housing with care and support to the most vulnerable through setting national policy direction for supported housing and domestic abuse safe accommodation. Three SEO policy advisor roles are available within the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Directorate in MHCLG.</p><p>MHCLG plays a critical role in the Government’s ambition to halve violence against women and girls within the next decade. One role is available in the Domestic Abuse team whose work ensures victims and their children have access to safe accommodation and specialist support when fleeing abuse. We lead on policy development, and provide guidance and funding to local authorities who have statutory duties in the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. We monitor delivery across England and work closely with partners to resolve challenges. </p><p>The successful candidate will work closely with other government departments (Home Office, Ministry of Justice), local authorities, and domestic abuse organisations, including the Domestic Abuse Commissioner’s Office and Women’s Aid. </p><p>MHCLG is the cross-Government lead for supported housing policy including supply and quality, working particularly closely with DWP and DHSC, and also with DfE and MoJ. Two roles are available within the Supported Housing team. Supported Housing enables more than half a million vulnerable people to live in a home they can call their own, with the support or care they need to be as independent as possible. This includes older, disabled and autistic people as well as those experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness and rough sleeping. </p><p>We are currently implementing reforms set out in the landmark Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act which will give local authorities new powers to clamp down on sub-standard landlords running poor quality supported housing. This includes working with representative bodies such as the Local Government Association, National Housing Federation and Chartered Institute of Housing, as well as other departments and regulators. </p><p>These are stretching roles working on the development and implementation of complex policy to ensure that vulnerable people receive the support they need. All 3 roles involve working extensively with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery, with significant Ministerial interest.</p><h4>Job description</h4><p>The Domestic Abuse job holder will:</p><ul><li>Lead on the delivery of two evaluation process research projects working closely with social researchers and contractors. This is a major piece of work, which will include mapping of existing protections, collecting evidence about how they are used and by whom including wide stakeholder engagement with the parks and green spaces sector, community empowerment stakeholders, local authorities property developers. This will lead to work implementing the review’s recommendations to simplify and clarify protections, and enhance community powers to protect valued open spaces.</li><li>Green Flag Award contract.
