Apply now to join us at Defence Equipment and Support (DE&amp;S) supporting Aircrew Systems. </p><p>You’ll work within Core, our largest area, which focusses on the acquisition and support equipment systems and within the Air Environment. </p><p>Aircrew Life Preservers and Body Armour systems management is a highly specialised area requiring detailed equipment knowledge, not only in the mechanical functionality but also the human and Air System integration aspects of the System. Broad and in-depth technical and managerial experience of these safety critical Survival Equipment systems is essential. </p><p>As a Professional Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of activities against the Engineering Management Plans, including engagement with various stakeholders, such as the Aviation Duty Holders, the air regulatory authorities and our industry partners to ensure systems and equipment are safe by design and remain safe to operate. You should have experience in conducting fault investigations and production of safety related evidence in support managing hazards and the associated direct risk to life. </p><p>We champion flexible ways of working. You will be using your knowledge and experience in providing advice and managing elements of equipment support and acquisition. The skills group supports a wide range of complex equipment from traditional fixed and rotary wing aircraft, through to Uncrewed Air Systems (UAS). </p><p>The task this advert relates to is the UK P-8A lead for Automated Logistic Environment (ALE). In this role, you will provide advice on enterprise-wide ALE matters and act as the focal point for UK P-8A ALE, engaging with the P-8A Delivery Team (DT) Engineering Authority (EA), systems specialists, logistics staff, front-line customers, and Design Organisations. </p><p>You will be responsible for drafting, issuing, and maintaining DT ALE policies and procedures, as well as acting as the DT focal point for the collection, use, and exploitation of Aircraft Health Monitoring Data. Key responsibilities include conducting and coordinating regular Working Groups, triaging and allocating technical issues to the appropriate engineering desk and providing ALE SME input to key safety and integrity management forums. Additionally, you will provide engineering support to the UK P-8A Depot EA, addressing Depot maintenance issues as they arise and optimising the Depot input process. </p><p>We champion flexible ways of working.
