With a strong focus on providing both high support and high challenge, the team enables you to deliver your best to the families who need it most.

Who are we?
Mapesbury School is a new Special Educational Needs school opened in Spring 2025 in Cricklewood, Brent. Our small school supports children aged between 7 to 16 years with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in a mainstream or specialist setting and would benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach to education. Pupils will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but may not yet have a diagnosis, though they display traits of Autism and associated conditions.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Licensing Officer to join our small but busy team. &nbsp;Your full range of duties will include enforcing the relevant provisions under the Licensing Act, Gambling Act, street trading/collections, hackney carriage/private hire, scrap metal dealers, and animal welfare.&nbsp; You will be carrying out site visits and licensed premises inspections, you will therefore need your own car to get around the district.
You will be enthusiastic, committed, self-motivated and have a positive attitude. You must be an excellent communicator with sound time management skills and be confident in dealing with members of the public.&nbsp; You must be able to demonstrate your ability to adapt to changing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
On a typical day, you would:

We are looking to expand the Hairdressing curriculum teaching team at our newly opened Brent Hairdressing Academy located in the heart of Harlesden. You’ll be hardworking and flexible, have high personal standards and expectations with good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills and good attention to detail. Able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines, you’ll work effectively as an individual and as a team member to achieve targets and be able to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning. The Person You’ll be teaching courses across a range of levels and be a personal tutor on the courses in this curriculum area. You must have experience of teaching Hairdressing and Barbering skills and / or coiled and curly hair specialism like hair extension (braiding), wig making, perming/ relaxing techniques and so on. You are expected to work at flexible hours, including evenings and / or weekends. The courses are predominantly coursework based and therefore we seek innovative practitioners to design engaging coursework assignments that inspire learners. Following our agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring procedures are an essential component of this work and you’ll also be involved in internal verification activities and organise and take part in external verification. In addition, you will have knowledge and experience of RaRPA and using accreditation with external examination boards.
Ideally, you hold a Level 5 qualification or an equivalent advanced professional qualification in the hairdressing and/or barbering specialism and a teaching qualification. You will have excellent teaching, demonstration and assessment skills in hairdressing and/or barbering and have recent demonstrable experience in hairdressing/barbering education and industry experience. A current DBS would be welcome.
Various courses will run Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays (from 3 to 6 hours of teaching per day) -starting September 2025

About the Role
The Faculty of Health, well-being and Care has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced permanent Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services. The role will involve tutoring and course management of a Level 1, 2, or 3 vocational programme, as well as teaching across all programmes.
The successful candidate should have a degree (or equivalent) in a related area. You should also be familiar with the current BTEC and NCFE curriculum and we encourage applications from teachers with a broad range of disciplines both in practice and theory.
You will have sound organisational skills, your ability to work cooperatively and contribute positively and creatively to a team is also essential.
You will also possess a recognised Level 4 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification upon appointment.&nbsp; Excellent communication, administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team and contribute positively and creatively are also essential in this role.

About the Role
The Faculty of A levels and Science has the opportunity to appoint a A-level teacher in History and Politics. The ability to offer Sociology would also be an advantage.
The successful candidate should have a degree (or equivalent) in a related area. You should also be familiar with the current A level curriculum and we encourage applications from teachers with a broad range of disciplines.
You will have sound organisational skills, your ability to work cooperatively and contribute positively and creatively to a team is also essential.
You will also be required to act as a personal tutor to groups of students and therefore experience of the UCAS procedure would be helpful.
You will also possess a recognised Level 4 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification upon appointment.&nbsp; Excellent communication, administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team and contribute positively and creatively are also essential in this role.
