You might have experience from a Local Authority background, from a school, college, or Early Years background, you might come from a Health Service or third sector background too. Certainly, you’ll have a good knowledge and experience of the SEN system, and you will have a demonstrable understanding of the SEN Code of Practice, and you’ll be aware of changes that might be coming in the SEN system, and what that might mean for councils, schools, and most of all children and young people.&nbsp;&nbsp;
For those wanting to join our PFA team, you’ll have an understanding of what it means to Prepare for Adulthood, and a working knowledge of the concept of post-16 and post-18 provision and placements.&nbsp;&nbsp;
You’ll be good at communicating, able to share the positive and the difficult messages which come with SEN, confident in the knowledge that your managers and local leaders will support you. You’ll do this with empathy, with kindness, but also with clearness and confidence.&nbsp;&nbsp;
You’ll be well organised and able to balance competing priorities day to day, and you’ll understand why good record keeping is important, and most importantly, do it. You’ll understand that SEN is not just the school or setting, not just the Council, not just the Health Service, but that we all have a part to play, when, how, and why.&nbsp;

Our Private Sector Housing team seeks to improve the conditions and management standards of private sector housing.
You’ll assist the team in achieving this by leading on the changes brought in by the Renters Rights Act to the delivery of housing enforcement standards, ensuring private sector residential accommodation throughout the District meets statutory standards and helping to bring about improvements in conditions and standards of management for residents.
You will deliver service improvements by developing new working processes and building relationships with partners to meet the requirements of the Renters Rights Act.
You’ll be responsible for assessing a variety of properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and interpreting the results of these assessments to determine an appropriate course of action to deal with each hazard identified.
You will investigate complaints regarding housing conditions and undertake detailed surveys and inspections of residential accommodation throughout the District.
With your knowledge of Housing legislation, you’ll be comfortable using formal action where necessary, including attendance at Court where required.
This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles, with your working time split between the office and home (2-3 days).

We are seeking an environmental health specialist with experience of commenting on planning applications from a public health perspective. A good knowledge of key areas of concern in this area with Air Quality, Environmental Noise and Contaminated Land within your remit. You will work with our Planning department across all stages of the planning process, providing advice and guidance on theenvironmental and public health impact of applications and proposed developments. As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you’ll carry out a wide range of practical tasks including grass cutting, strimming, hedge work, litter picking and general site care, ensuring high standards are consistently met across the borough.&nbsp;

Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll contribute to repair and improvement projects and help maintain excellent presentation of our sites, vehicles and equipment.
