Safeguarding Team Manager 

About the roleAs a Head of Commissioning and Contracts for Children’s Services, you will play a key role in designing and delivering commissioned services that meet the needs of children and families, ensuring positive outcomes. What will you be doing?You will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of commissioning activity and contracts. You will ensure that services are designed and commissioned in a way that meets the needs of children and families, supports good outcomes, and aligns with the council’s goals alongside being efficient and cost effective. About the roleWe are currently seeking a passionate and highly motivated Leisure Manager to join our busy NN Leisure Active Communities Team. As the post holder you will be developing and managing opportunities across North Northamptonshire for residents to be more active and move more, across all ages and abilities. You will be providing direction, planning and support to the NNC Active Communities team, ensuring that the Active Communities Strategy actions are delivered to encourage more North Northamptonshire residents to participate in physical activity, make positive lifestyle changes and create regular long-term participation to improve their health, mental and physical wellbeing.What will you be doing?Workstreams will include line management of the Active Communities Team and their projects and programmes such as school term time and holiday programmes, sport and activity sessions, events, club development programmes, coaching and leadership schemes, and marketing and monitoring for these programmes. Providing management support to the Wellbeing Walks programme which has various walks across North Northants and over 130 + walk volunteers and the SHAPE Dance programme for all ages and 2 annual shows a year.Be responsible for the co-ordination and development of the local NN Sports Network to provide opportunities for sports clubs to grow and develop by providing advice and support for funding, training and governance.You will work alongside many different partners and foster strong relationships to achieve this, for example with Northamptonshire Sport, NGB’s, Local Clubs, Schools, Community Safety, Police, VCSE groups, local companies, diverse community groups etc.You will ensure that all sessions and programmes comply with health and safety standards and that Safeguarding policies and procedures are robust and adhered to as the safety of all participants and staff will be paramount.About youIn order to be considered for this role you'll have proven experience of managing a successful delivery team in this field, hold a Level 5 or have equivalent experience in management of Sport, Play or Health programmes and at least hold one level 2 NGB coaching/instructing qualification. You will have an outgoing personality, be a team player and be able to work flexible hours as required for the needs of the business (e.g. ad hoc - evenings, and occasional weekends) The Council operates a flexitime scheme and can offer a hybrid approach to working as the postholder will be able to work remotely for part of the working week around delivery and set office based days. Once appointed to the post, the Council will be able to offer support to the post holder to access further training in management, coach development, leadership tutoring and sport, play and health qualifications.
