Our Housing Options and Solutions team plays a vital frontline role, providing practical support, expert advice and timely interventions to help people remain in their homes or secure alternative accommodation when they need it most.
As a Housing Reviews and Visiting Officer, you’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team working directly with residents across the Sevenoaks District. Your work will help prevent homelessness, support some of our most vulnerable residents, and ensure the Council meets its legal duties under housing legislation.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines casework, investigation, and extensive face-to-face work with customers in their homes and other settings, including hospitals. Based at the Council Offices in Sevenoaks, you’ll travel widely across the district carrying out visits, gathering information, and providing practical housing advice.
What you will be doing:

<li>Assisting with homelessness reviews under Section 202 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, including carrying out investigations and gathering evidence.</li>
<li>Keeping applicants informed of progress on their homelessness reviews within statutory timescales.</li>
<li>Carrying out accommodation suitability and property condition assessments, considering affordability, overcrowding, location, and any risk of violence.</li>
<li>Visiting customers in a range of settings, including hospitals, to support safe and timely discharge planning.</li>
<li>Providing high-quality housing advice, mediation and realistic housing options to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.</li>
<li>Supporting Housing Advice Officers by verifying applicant details, recording findings from visits, and making clear recommendations.</li>
<li>Maintaining accurate, timely case notes and records on Council databases.</li>
<li>Identifying safeguarding concerns and ensuring vulnerable adults and children are referred to the right services at the right time.</li>

What you will bring to the role:

The Regulatory Services Partnership (RSP) hosted by Merton Council is one of the largest Environmental Health Services in London, with the Food and Safety Team responsible for overseeing more than 6,000 food businesses in Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth. The area covered is diverse in nature and includes a variety of high profile and interesting venues, such as Wimbledon Tennis, AFC Wimbledon, Twickenham Rugby, Battersea Power Station, New Covent Garden and Hampton Court Flower Show.
We have an exciting opportunity for talented and enthusiastic qualified professionals to join our team of dedicated Food and Health and Safety officers to deliver the food safety, health and safety and infectious disease function across the RSP boroughs.
As an authorised officer you will manage and deliver food hygiene and standards inspections of all premises type, including approved food premises. You will investigate complaints and accidents, using your knowledge, skills and experience, and applying the necessary behaviours.
You will mentor and supervise technical staff, sharing your knowledge and experience.

Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative (Rights of Way)
An exciting and challenging opportunity has been created to join a Grounds Maintenance team who maintain Rights of Way within Wirral. We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to help provide an excellent service for local people.
The Team implements the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with staff, Friends Groups, service users and external organisations and will join the Grounds Maintenance team, based at Cleveland Street Depot, which is responsible for the maintenance of all Highway verges &amp; some open spaces within Parks &amp; Countryside.
The successful candidate will help implement the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with Rights of Way officer, staff, Friends Groups, service users and external organisation.
About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will join the Grounds Maintenance team based at Cleveland Street Depot which is responsible for the maintenance of all Highway verges &amp; Rights of Way some open spaces within Parks &amp; Countryside. The Grounds Maintenance team work to provide a comprehensive grounds maintenance service to these areas.
You will have the following essential Knowledge &amp; Skills:
Health &amp; Safety awareness.
Full/Provisional Driving Licence.
As well as being able to carry out a full range of maintenance duties it will be desirable if you were skilled in at least one of the following:
Compact Ride-On Mowing Machines.
Experience in use of industrial horticultural machinery, strimmer, backpack blower, and hedge cutter.
Possession of the following Desirable Criteria will be advantageous. Towing of trailers and NVQ 2 in Amenity Horticulture
Temporary Contract and hours are as follows:
31 weeks @ 36 hrs to commence on 30th March 2026 to 30th October 2026.
Monday to Thursday 08.00am -16.30pm (8 hours per day)

What will you be doing?Kent Pensions Administration Team is expanding to strengthen our capacity and resilience. We are delighted to announce a permanent vacancy for a Pensions Deputy Team Manager (to work in our Pensions Operations Team for Kent Pension Fund).This a permanent role, full-time (37 hours); part-time applicants (minimum 30 hours a week) also welcome. The post will involve hybrid working (home and office working in Maidstone, Kent, dependent upon business needs). As a Deputy Team Manager, you will play a key role in administering the Kent Pension Fund. Working closely with Team Managers, you will support and coordinate colleagues to deliver high-quality pension administration services and contribute to key projects.Essential experience and skills:<ul><li>Strong, working knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)</li><li>Extensive experience in pension assessments and calculations</li><li>Familiarity with Altair systems</li><li>Commitment to delivering excellent customer care</li></ul>Previous management experience is not essential; we will provide support to help you develop in the role.
