Job Introduction

Driver / Sales Worker (CORE Furniture)

Tynedale Centre, Hexham

Monday to Friday | 9:00am - 4:00pm

We are looking for a reliable and dedicated Driver / Sales Worker to join our friendly team at the Tynedale Centre in Hexham.

The Tynedale Centre supports adults with complex needs and is home to our successful CORE Furniture project, where quality pre-loved furniture and household items are collected, delivered and sold to the local community. In this rewarding role, you will work alongside staff and volunteers, including individuals with learning disabilities, helping to provide an excellent service to customers across the local area.

If you are customer-focused, enjoy working as part of a team, and want a role where you can make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Loading and unloading furniture and household items safely.
  • Collecting and delivering items within the local area, including multi-drop deliveries.
  • Completing vehicle safety checks, reporting defects and maintaining accurate paperwork.
  • Keeping the van clean, tidy and roadworthy.
  • Supporting sales activities within the CORE showroom.
  • Working collaboratively within a team environment and participating in training opportunities.
  • Following all Health and Safety procedures and safe lifting practices.
  • Providing excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public.

What We're Looking For

You will have:

  • A full current Category B driving licence.
  • Experience of delivery or driving work.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to plan delivery routes and maintain records.
  • Physical ability to undertake regular lifting, loading and unloading activities.
  • A flexible and positive approach to teamwork.
  • Basic cash and card handling knowledge.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a driving role. You'll be helping to support a valuable community service that provides opportunities for adults with learning disabilities while promoting the reuse and recycling of quality furniture and household items.

If this role appeals to you and you would like to make a difference, apply to join our dedicated team today.

We welcome prospective applicants to visit the Tynedale Centre for an informal tour and meet the team.
