GENERAL LAWYER WITH PLANNING FOCUS
Salary: £37,306 - £40,057 p.a.
Plus local Government Pension Scheme
Hours: 37hrs per week
The Christchurch and East Dorset Partnership are looking for a Generalist Lawyer with a particular focus on planning to join a small but busy Legal Team.
The successful candidate will possess a broad range of knowledge and experience on a range of local government legal matters including planning, property, contracts, regulatory and litigation.
However, the primary focus of this role will be to serve as a legal adviser on Town and Country Planning and Planning Policy matters and to attend and advise at Planning Committee meetings in the absence of the Principal Planning Lawyer.
This is a dual location position which requires the ability to travel around the district and to work from both the Civic Offices, Christchurch and Wimborne as required.
As this post involves close working and giving advice to elected members of the Council, the position is politically restricted under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
For an informal confidential discussion about this role, please contact Richard Jones, Partnership Legal and Democratic Services Manager on 01202 795171.
NB: You will be unable to view the job description and person specification forms after this vacancy has closed. We cannot accept CV's in place of an application form as we require the same range of information from all our candidates. Please be aware that further communication will be via e-mail.
Applications must be returned by: 18 September 2017
Interview Date: 28 or 29 September 2017
