As a School Bursarial Service Senior Support Officer, you will:
Provide essential front-line support to schools in collecting, collating, maintaining, analysing and reporting on finance data, and monitoring outcomes in relation to schools’ financial performance.
Design and deliver impactful training session and assist the Head of Service in the development of the service, its systems and processes.
Support schools in producing and interpreting both financial and non-financial information, meeting statutory reporting requirements, forecasting, modelling and planning for the impact of internal and external risk factors and opportunities across all aspects of income and expenditure.
Provide strategic advice on funding streams, sustainable budget planning, benchmarking, financial efficiencies and deficit recovery planning.
Ensure continuous development so that our practice is of a high quality. We make ongoing improvements to our service, strengthening the way we work to increase levels of financial knowledge, sustainability and resilience within schools.
Collaborate and work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders. Partnership working with schools and other local authority services and department is at the heart of our approach.

Manage and support with projects related to financial and resource management, including to deliver training programmes and develop the use of software solutions for effective budget monitoring and management.
Play a major role in supporting school financial sustainability, including supporting schools to set sustainable budgets, monitoring and risk management for school leaders and governors across all Local Authority maintained schools in Ealing and deficit recovery planning.
Play a pivotal role in the planning, co-ordination and strategic development of the Dedicated Schools Grant for schools, High Needs and Early Years, both devolved to schools and centrally retained. This will include budget modelling, forecasting, making finance recommendations and communicating key changes to senior management and schools.
Work with the head of service and Assistant Director on schools forum reporting, relationship management and decision making.
Collaborate, work in partnership with and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including schools, internal services and departments, other LA’s, education professionals and central government.

Hours: The group meets every month on a Thursday, usually the first Thursday.
Our Living with Secondary Breast Cancer groups meet 11am to 1pm, with a slightly longer meeting each quarter (11am to 1.30pm) when an expert speaker presents on a relevant topic.
Our groups are usually held in hospitality or community venues in the town or city centre.
Pay: We offer flat fees for work undertaken delivering our services as listed below:

<li>£135 for facilitating a 2 hour group session</li>
<li>£155 for facilitating a quarterly 2.5 hour speaker session</li>
<li>£16 admin fee per session</li>
<li>Additional fees for attending training and meetings or facilitating a larger annual information event.</li>
</ul>
We do not provide expenses or any fee for travel time or costs. However, we do reimburse car parking costs, if applicable, at the venue the group is held.
The role
We are currently looking for an experienced facilitator with a counselling qualification (minimum Level 4 diploma) to deliver our Living with Secondary Breast Cancer (LWSBC) group in Romford.
Our LWSBC groups offer support and information to anyone living with a diagnosis of secondary (metastatic) breast cancer. The groups offer a safe space where people can come to talk freely and share experiences and mutual support with others who understand, away from friends and family. They are not therapeutic support groups in the traditional sense but are delivered in accordance with our UK-Wide service model, developed and tested for over 10 years.
You’ll be responsible for facilitating the groups, drawing upon your therapeutic skills as required. Ensuring all attendees are given time to share and supported to take part in discussion, including around challenging topics affecting this patient group such as end of life. You’ll work independently in your region, with sole responsibility for facilitating each group, liaising with venue staff as required. You’ll act as an ambassador for Breast Cancer Now, promoting our charitable aims and building professional relationships with healthcare professionals who attend.
This is offered as a contract for services position and as such the appointed contractor would not be an employee of Breast Cancer Now but a self-employed individual. We require all contractors to adhere to and follow Breast Cancer Now applicable policies and procedures and to undertake some mandatory training in core subjects such as data protection and cyber security. A satisfactory criminal record check will be required.
About you
You’ll have a counselling qualification and experience of facilitating groups, preferably ongoing support groups for people affected by cancer or a life-limiting long-term condition, or other vulnerable/sensitive group. You’ll have a warm and approachable manner, able to communicate sensitively with people facing difficult challenges. You’ll be confident using your own initiative and dealing with unforeseen challenges when working alone and be able to travel to facilitate the group in person from your home address.

The Resettlement &amp; Migration Team lead by example, challenging discrimination, racism and inequality through an inclusive, informed and empowering approach for all residents. This role will serve those who are at risk of homelessness, looking to reduce rough sleeping and ending destitution. The role will aid the integration of sanctuary seekers, build social cohesion in our communities and share best practice with other local authorities.The Housing Officer will be required:1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;To work with and support refugees and those with potential refugee status living in Home Office accommodation, sponsorship placements or making their own arrangements.2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;To work with NASS providers such as Clearsprings and their subcontractors.3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Welcome Afghan refugees to LAHF properties procured by the LA4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;To arrange, host and manage events and workshops with sanctuary seekers.
