The role – Level 4 (Advanced technical lead) Fire Risk Assessor
This role involves conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments, across Origin Housing’s portfolio of General Needs Block and HRBs across Hertfordshire, North/Northwest London and identifying potential hazards and recommending appropriate measures to mitigate risks. The assessor will work closely with a range of stakeholders to implement fire safety protocols, provide fire safety advice, and ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards. By proactively managing fire risks, the Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor plays a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of residents and maintaining the integrity of the Origin’s properties.
What you’ll do
<ul>
<li>Conduct and review fire risk assessments in line with statutory requirements.</li>
<li>Ensure actions are identified, prioritised, and closed within compliance timeframes.</li>
<li>Assess and review fire strategies for new and existing buildings.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with Approved Document B, BS 9991, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.</li>
<li>Act as a key technical contact for fire safety matters.</li>

Our service ensures the safe collection of waste throughout the district. You’ll work as part of team and will be responsible for collecting garden waste.
You’ll be able to make decisions on what waste can be removed and have an awareness of manual handling as well as assisting the driver with risk assessments and working in accordance with Health &amp; Safety guidelines.
You’ll be comfortable working outside in all types of weather and be able to deal with the physical demands of the role (lifting heavy items and walking distances).

The role – Building Safety Manager
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Building Safety Manager to join our team at Origin Housing. As a subject matter expert on Building Safety, you will support Origin Housing to achieve their responsibilities in relation to the Building Safety Act, supporting legislation and guidance. You will proactively provide guidance, assistance and support working with wider teams to promote a positive building safety culture and best practice building safety management.
What you’ll do

<li>Support the development of Safety Case reviews and digital records as detailed within the Building Safety Act, prepare safety case reports for the Regulator and ensure that buildings remain compliant to and meet license requirements.</li>
<li>To lead and manage the Building a Safer Future team (BSF) and the delivery of specialist building surveys for:</li>
<li>Buildings in scope under the Building Safety Act</li>
<li>Special projects to investigate and remedy major structural and/or fire safety defects; manage remedial works under the Building a Safer Future programme</li>
<li>Explain and implement a formal approach to building safety management demonstrating how hazards and risks, including those arising from temporary works and maintenance, can be reduced through various means.</li>

You’ll lead the daily delivery of Hackney’s street trading operations, oversee a team of officers, and ensure licensing, compliance, trader performance and customer experience are always top-notch. - Oversee the day-to-day running of Hackney’s street markets and trading sites
- Line-manage Senior Market Officers and lead on trader engagement, licensing and compliance
- Work on-site every Saturday and two Sundays per month — visible, accessible and active

- Champion inclusive access to trading opportunities and support business development
- Liaise with Highways, Licensing, Enforcement and Finance to ensure seamless delivery

Licensing & Business Support Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker (must have completed ASYE and registered with Social Work England) who is highly motivated to work within the Medway Shared Lives service. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission and currently rated as Good. You will be involved in the recruitment of new carers, complete their assessment, training and approval. Once approved you will provide the ongoing support and monitoring needed to maintain the standards required and achieve the positive outcomes needed. The service provides short- and long-term placements within family homes for people who have care and support needs, taking a highly individual approach to care provision. This role is strongly relationship based and you will work closely with the Shared Lives carers to support them to provide enabling and person-centred approaches to the support they provide to people using our service.Your practice will have a strong emphasis on standards of care and working to provide the best possible outcomes for people.
