We are looking to build an exceptional team of contract managers and care brokers who are ambitious, have a flare for working collaboratively and most importantly are passionate about delivering improved outcomes for vulnerable people.

The Role

The Council is currently seeking to recruit a Head of Families Brokerage and Contract Management who is ambitious, has a flare for working collaboratively and most importantly is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable people. This is a newly created senior post in our strategic commissioning function. It reflects the Councils ambition to ensure that we maximise the opportunities available in the way we micro-commission placements, packages, services and direct payments on the behalf of vulnerable residents. Also, through effective and robust contract management ensuring that we maximise the return on our investment in commissioned services and achieve value for money. You will lead and shape the design of the new service offer provided by our Adult Social Care Brokerage Team and explore, through the development of a business case, the viability of developing a Directorate wide brokerage service across the Families and Homes Directorate.

The Candidate

You will be expected to show leadership and take responsibility for delivering an excellent service to our customers. You will be able to maintain positive relationships when faced with challenges, exercise excellent judgement and represent the team well both internally and externally.

You will be at the heart of driving efficiency, best value and innovation and you will bring substantial energy, enthusiasm and disciplined organisational skills to help us realise our ambitions for our residents.

We are looking for people with demonstrable commercial intelligence who are able to effectively manage relationships with external providers to deliver improvements, innovation and cost savings during the lifetime of contracts.

You will ensure that your team develops effective relationships with key delivery partners in order to hold them to account for providing positive outcomes for our residents, ensuring services are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest of standards.

Therefore, the successful candidate will require excellent interpersonal, management and leadership skills, as well as exhibiting accurate and confident decision making, and have the ability to operate in a flexible and evolving environment.
