Birmingham Children’s Services has great ambitions for children and families and we are looking for great leaders to come and join us. Moving into a Children’s Trust in 2018 means a focus on practice, and Heads of Service are core to leading the best social work we can offer. We have established a professional practice framework and through our service delivery model, we continue to reduce caseloads, retain great staff, and strengthen our social work with children and families.
We are seeking strong practice leads to join our Heads of Service team in the east of the city. You will join an area senior leadership team, and work alongside your Assistant Director in professional leadership and operational management, while line managing a cohort of team managers in our Assessment and Short Term Intervention service (ASTI) or in our Safeguarding Service. We are looking for strong and confident leadership, someone who will champion and challenge service delivery to ensure continuous improvement.
You will be required to demonstrate your leadership skills and ability to meet operational objectives through negotiation, innovation, delegation, problem solving and performance management. You will also need to evidence your experience of working in a leadership role, where you have improved service quality and frontline practice.
A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with the Health Care Profession Council are required.
Interviews will take place on 10th August 2017
