Highway Development Management Engineer The Economy, Transport and Environment department is at the forefront of making sure Cambridgeshire is open for business. You will be part of a team of Development Management Engineers working in the Councils Growth & Economy Service. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to have an important part to play in dealing with the exciting challenges that the growth agenda within Cambridgeshire presents. Key responsibilities of the post will be to develop, promote and secure the County’s transport objectives through the assessment of development proposals, provision of advice and support to Local Planning Authorities and negotiation with developers to secure adoption of new development infrastructure. Developments in the County provide a complex range of on-site and off-site transport issues to address, so you will need to bring experience in highway assessment of development proposals or significant experience in a related highway discipline. In addition to your strong technical and negotiation skills, you will need to be a good communicator, both verbal and written and be able to build relationships with customers, elected Members, partner organisations and other stakeholders. Ideally you will have a degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline, or extensive relevant Highway Development Management experience. Whilst the post will be based in Cambridge, we operate flexible working opportunities across a number of locations across Cambridgeshire. If you would like to discuss this post please telephone Sue Reynolds on 01223 703594.
