Community Short Term Services Independence at Home Team is delighted to be offering people the opportunity to work with us as Home Care Support Workers in providing Reabling Domiciliary Care Service across the City.

The service provides a personal approach to helping individuals who find themselves unable to manage day-to-day tasks at home. We support people to learn to do something in a different way to increase independence and confidence.

The primary function is to provide ongoing assessment, support and goal setting for up to six weeks.

Main advert detail

The main office base is Beech Cottage, Woodingdean however as we complete direct care visits across the City you will be allocated to work from one of our satellite bases.
We have Teams working in Hove, East Brighton, Coldean, Patcham, Saltdean etc to assist in maximising resources.
You will be working towards achieving the best outcomes for adults by assisting with direct personal care, daily living tasks, goal setting to support reablement and liaising with the office and other professionals.
You will need:
- Knowledge and understanding of working within the care sector
- A commitment to providing excellent standards of care and support
- Flexible in your approach and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as the confidence to work alone
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and to use your initiative

Home Care Support Worker positions covering several different rota patterns. All contracts include a minimum of alternate weekend working.

We are currently recruiting for 11 permanent posts:
- 1 x 24.5hr post, split shift (daytime)
- 1 x 17.5hr post (daytime)
- 1 x 17.5hr post (evening)
- 3 x 28hr post, split shift (daytime)

- 4 x 22.75hr post (daytime)
- 1 x 28hr post (daytime)

All of the posts vacant are to cover our day and evening service. You would be required to work on a rota pattern covering 7 shifts over a 2 week period.

Enhancements are paid for weekends, late evenings (after 8pm) and bank holidays along with travel expenses.




The role often involves recording medication and diary or care plan notes. As part of the selection process, there will be a 20-30min written test of numeracy and literacy before the interview.
