Southdown is a leading provider in housing, supported employment and specialist support in Sussex. Southdown’s Housing Division oversees the management of a small but specialist supported housing service for over 500 tenants across East and West Sussex, Brighton and Hove often in partnership with Local Authorities and other Registered Providers to provide housing for vulnerable individuals across the Sussex area.
Southdown is looking to recruit an experienced Housing Officer on a job share basis 20 hours per week. You will work alongside the existing Housing Officer to provide a high quality Supported Housing Management Service to around 90 tenants in West Sussex. You’ll have a strong commitment to tenant involvement, equalities and diversity with the skills to provide a responsive Housing Management service to tenants with support needs including those with mental health problems, learning disabilities, those with drug or alcohol issues, care leavers or those at risk of offending.
Working within a dedicated and experienced housing management team and reporting to the Housing Manager, you will work collaboratively with in-house support staff and key stakeholders to provide a sensitive and responsive service to tenants with identified support needs. You will ensure that rents and service charges are well managed and that tenancy issues and anti-social behaviour issues that arise are responded to appropriately and that Southdown’s comply with legislation and good practice in providing housing for vulnerable people.
This post requires you to be a driver with access to a car for work purposes (for which mileage and essential car user allowances are paid).
