Located in the ‘Heart of Derbyshire’ with a borough comprising of quiet villages, market towns and excellent transport links, Amber Valley is set in beautiful countryside with the Derwent Mills world heritage site adding to the charm of Amber Valley. The successful candidate will be principally responsible for delivering adaptations to domestic homes which will include conducting feasibility studies, production of working drawings, specification writing, submitting planning applications and contract documentation. You will need to have knowledge and experience of housing grants legislation, technical and operational issues and knowledge of Building Regulations applicable to domestic dwellings. You will have the ability to interpret legislation, reports, data, architectural drawings and plans and experience of building contracts and procurement.You will hold a qualification in a relevant area e.g. Architecture/building construction or architectural technology have experience of using design software e.g. CAD.You will need to have excellent IT skills and the ability to organise and prioritise your own work. You will also be required to work on site and may work from home occasionally. The White Paper for Social Housing places a strong emphasis on engaging with tenants and residents to deliver services that meet local need.
We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic individual to lead on reviewing and embedding a new Tenant Engagement Strategy to ensure tenants voices are heard and their views are at the heart of decision making. to
Reporting directly to the Head of Housing, your objectives will be:-
<ul>
<li>To develop and embed our Tenant Engagement Strategy, implementing a range of methods for engagement and influence that are multi-channel, accessible and effective in reaching a wide tenant-base with varying levels of digital skills and contact preferences.</li>
<li>
Develop and Deliver Engagement Activities: Plan and implement a range of engagement initiatives, including surveys, focus groups, and community events, to gather tenant feedback and promote involvement.</li>
<li>To lead on the recruitment of tenants to the Tenant Engagement Group to support the delivery of the Tenant Engagement Strategy.</li>
<li>
Facilitate Tenant Engagement Group Meetings: Organise, lead, and support regular meetings with the Tenant Engagement Group, ensuring inclusive participation and follow-through on agreed actions.</li>
<li>To ensure the Councils' regulatory obligations under the White Paper for Social Housing are met and to ensure compliance with current and future legislative changes.</li>
<li>To be a Champion for Tenant Engagement across all service areas.</li>
</ul>
A knowledge of housing related issues is essential for this role. To succeed in this role you will need an outgoing personality, ability to work on your own initiative and to positively engage with tenants and stakeholders.
