Charnwood Borough Council in Leicestershire is searching for the latest member of the Repairs &amp; Investment Section.
We are looking for a passionate individual who is customer focused, a team player and wants to help improve our local communities in Charnwood.&nbsp;
The Council is recruiting for a Damp, Mould, and Disrepair Co-ordinator – this is a Fixed Term Contract for 14 months.
You will play a lead role in the Damp &amp; Mould Team as well as the Disrepair Team where you will be required to co-ordinate casework, collate information and monitor casework performance. In this role you will be able to demonstrate a high level of organisational skill as well as an ability to disseminate complex information. This will need to be demonstrated within the Councils existing processes and procedures and within the current legislative requirements for both Damp &amp; Mould and Disrepair and will preferably include knowledge of Awaab’s Law and Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol.
With the ability to successfully work in partnership, you will ensure that our customers’ objectives around high quality, communication, and customer care are met.&nbsp; You will also ensure that set team objectives and key performance indicators are met.&nbsp;
The role requires the candidate to create, develop and administer systems and processes to record, track, action, and resolve damp, mould, and disrepair cases. Additionally, the role will require you to provide contract management support as well as responding to any customer queries, concerns, or complaints.

The Opportunity&nbsp;
Reporting to the Principal Officer - Investment, this is a key role in the successful management of the Housing Stock data of over 5700 properties.&nbsp; You will be responsible for the surveying, collation and management of the stock data as well as the analysis of the data to assist in the planning and implementation of the capital works programmes.
The role requires a detailed knowledge of building construction methods and materials backed up with a formal qualification, the ability to identify and diagnose defects and arrive at appropriate solutions as well as experience of undertaking stock condition surveys.
You must also be able to work with stock data and systems, managing data and assisting in the creation of programmes for future capital works programmes to ensure continued compliance with DHS and other statutory requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Asset Team which focuses in delivering panned works programmes ensuring an excellent service to our customers
Key Tasks&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Collation analysis and effective use of stock condition information from a range of surveys on all property assets including occupied dwellings, void dwellings, commercial buildings, garages, communal areas and public spaces.</li>
<li>Carrying out stock condition and related surveys - including Housing Health &amp; Safety Rating System (HHSRS) surveys.</li>
<li>Contribution to the development of comprehensive and accurate stock condition information to support short, and long-term asset management planning.</li>
<li>Ensuring results of surveys are accurately recorded in the asset management system, in a timely manner, using hand-held data capture equipment.</li>
<li>Effective organisational, planning and report writing skills.</li>
<li>Full and clean driving licence with access to a vehicle to undertake site visits.</li>
<li>Delivery of an effective and appropriate service to all service users, fairly and without discrimination.</li>
</ul>

The Role
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our Damp, Mould and Disrepair Team. In this role, you will work closely with on-site technical staff, contractors, and customers to ensure all Damp, Mould and Disrepair cases are accurately recorded, effectively progressed, and promptly resolved.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be customer focused, motivated, and committed to delivering high quality service. To succeed in this position, you should have previous office experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong proficiency in using and supporting computer systems - including databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in housing management and familiarity with Awaab’s Law and the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims (England) would be advantageous, though not essential.
