How you’ll do it

<li>Deliver an integrated generic housing service to tenants and leasehold customers and work closely with colleagues and Hackney Council to achieve a sustainable community.</li>
<li> Provide a proactive and customer focussed housing management service across the Wyke Estate and ensure that the TMO fulfils its legal and contractual obligations to tenants and leaseholders.</li>
<li> Act as a regular and visible presence on the estate, taking action to make sure it is safe and well maintained and provide advice, information and reports on any housing management matter.</li>
<li> Ensure vulnerable residents receive appropriate support.</li>
<li> Maximise income from rents and reduce arrears.</li>

You will regulate Private sector housing in Dacorum and where required take enforcement action against landlords and liable parties with the aim to raise standards. The role&nbsp; The Private Sector Housing Team plays a vital role in improving the conditions and management of privately rented homes within our district. &nbsp;With the coming into force of the Renters Rights act, the team has to perform new duties including dealing with harassment and illegal eviction and new tenancy rules enforcement. &nbsp; Responding to complaints from tenants and/or referrals from other housing professionals you will undertake inspections and investigations across the local area, advise landlords and tenants of their rights, obligations and duties, and take enforcement and prosecution action where appropriate.&nbsp; Your duties may also include general private sector housing enforcement using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), processing HMO licensing applications, and dealing with Empty Homes as and when required.
About You You will need to be qualified and experienced in dealing with environmental health or housing matters and have a sound working knowledge of the relevant Housing legislation regarding harassment, illegal eviction and landlord/tenant disputes.&nbsp;
You will need experience of directly intervening and successfully supporting tenants suffering from harassment &amp; illegal eviction and detailed knowledge and application of landlord &amp; tenant law. Relevant experience and qualifications in investigatory practice, preparing prosecution files and attending court/tribunals would be an advantage.&nbsp;

Are you up for a challenge? We are looking for an enthusiastic, IT literate, motivated individual to work as a Housing Scheme Officer within our Housing Scheme &amp; Finance team.
This is an exciting opportunity, working in a specialist intensive housing management team which is responsible for delivering a comprehensive customer centred enhanced housing management support service through its day to day management of Dartford Borough Council’s sheltered properties for older people. Please note that this is a remote worker role, based in and around Dartford’s sheltered housing schemes, and so efficient use of your time is essential to successfully achieve the many and varied tasks you will be responsible for throughout the day.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, as is an in-depth understanding of safeguarding issues, but full training will be provided to the successful applicant.&nbsp; Other key duties include signposting tenants to support services and helping tenants to maintain their independence.&nbsp; Managing low level anti-social behaviour from a variety of sources (not just the occupants of the building) is also an essential part of this role, as well as undertaking property management inspections and assisting with rent arrears recovery. You must be a good communicator who is able to plan and deliver your own agreed work programme, whilst working with and supporting your team colleagues.

The Post
The Quality Assurance Team for the Housing Service is responsible for ensuring the service is compliant with its legal and regulatory responsibilities, developing and implementing lasting improvements and quality checks across key housing processes, and acting as a critical friend when it comes to the performance of service delivery.
As a Quality Assurance and Standards Officer you will play a key role in supporting the Housing Service to prepare for future inspections from the Regulator of Social Housing. You will keep the Housing Service informed of, and held to account against, regulatory requirements, national policy, legislative changes and best practice across the Housing and Local Government sector.
Working with staff at all levels, you will lead projects to develop, review and monitor the delivery of strategies, policies and processes across the Housing Service, ensuring we meet all expected requirements and provide effective, efficient services that prioritise tenant and leaseholder safety and satisfaction.
