This is a backfill role, created to support the team while we balance our day-to-day responsibilities with the implementation of a new HR and Payroll system, including employee self-service functionality.</p><p>As part of this dynamic team, you will play a key role in shaping our future ways of working. Your experience, knowledge and ability to influence will help drive the council's continued success.</p><p>The role requires you to:</p><ul><li>support and coach managers in understanding and applying employee relations policies and practices</li><li>lead on a wide range of employee relations casework</li><li>ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies</li><li>build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation</li></ul><p>You should be:</p><ul><li>CIPD qualified level 5 (or equivalent), with a strong grasp of UK employment law</li><li>experienced in delivering high-quality HR services in a fast-paced environment</li><li>a strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills</li><li>a confident communicator with a collaborative style and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively</li></ul><p>This role offers an opportunity to make a real impact while supporting a team that are driving meaningful change. We are based in our modern Town Hall which opened in 2023 and is located a short walk from the town centre and railway station.</p><h4>      Additional information  </h4><p>This role is a fixed term contract for 6 months.</p><p>This is a hybrid role requiring an onsite presence of up to three days per week. &nbsp;Your contractual base will be the Town Hall; however, you will need to travel between various sites to meet business needs.
