We are looking for an Employee Relations Consultant to provide advice and support to managers across the Council and external customers such as Headteachers &amp; Governors who purchase our service on a wide variety of employee relations activities including issues affecting individual members of staff (such as disciplinaries, dispute resolution, grievances, absence management and capability issues), some of which may be complex. You will design and deliver, in conjunction with the Learning &amp; Development team, training solutions in ER related areas to support managers and schools (where purchased) in understanding and application of HR policy. Whilst support to external customers (schools) is cited, the post holder shall predominantly support internal services within the Council. You will carry out first stage of job evaluations; to analyse and evaluate the profiles in determining the value of each job within the organisation. Contribute to the ongoing review and implementation of HR processes and policy, highlighting areas where policies can be improved through experiences gained in managing casework.You will manage a caseload which would include capability, disciplinary, grievance, ill health and other cases. Working with the HR Business Partner ensuring the staffing implications of proposed changes and developments in the organisation have been identified. You will act as client manager for formal investigations. Where you’ll work: Based at North Kent College’s Dartford campus, with occasional travel to the Gravesend / Hadlow / Tonbridge sites if required.
Your hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 52 weeks per annum.

Working as part of a close-knit team (including Director of People, Deputy Director of People, two People Business Partners, People Resourcing Manager, People Officer, and a second People Resources Coordinator), you’ll work collaboratively to deliver excellent services aligned with College policies and procedures.
As a People Resources Coordinator, you’ll provide customer-focused and pragmatic support to the People team, working closely with the People Business Partners and People Resourcing Manager to provide a value-adding service to your designated business areas, building professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
This could be the role for you if you:

<li>Have current HR experience at Administrator / Assistant level and want to take the next step, or possess transferable skills from another role and are keen to start a career in HR.</li>
<li>Hold a Level 3 CIPD qualification (or above) or are willing to achieve this within 12 months of employment (fully funded by us!).</li>
<li>Understand the basics of employment law and are comfortable providing first-level advice on HR matters, such as sickness certification.</li>
<li>Have experience supporting the end-to-end recruitment process, or transferable skills in managing key operational processes.</li>
<li>Are proficient in IT and administration, and can maintain systems with absolute accuracy.</li>
