The team is responsible for the management of the corporate GIS infrastructure which is used by staff, partners and the public. The role will be supporting a range of workstreams across the authority, whether that be providing location based spatial analysis in support of the council’s service planning, or by managing Hertfordshire County Council’s Enterprise ESRI suite, including application support (desktop and web), web services, and spatial datasets. During first 2 weeks in post there is an expectation to attend every day.<h4>About the role</h4>An exciting opportunity has arisen within the team to support the development and management of Hertfordshire’s enterprise deployment of the ESRI suite of products. The post holder will provide GIS expertise, analysis and technical support for web and desktop to the user base. You will also work alongside other analysts on a variety of projects across the council, utilising a variety of different data types from often disparate sources to analyse and visualise information, making it accessible and presenting findings in a logical and attractive way. Some examples of tasks include:<ul><li>Providing GIS support/analysis including digitisation, editing, publishing and production of hard copy or digital maps.</li><li>Support the ESRI Enterprise suite with use of Arc Pro Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, Web GIS apps including Experience Builder.</li><li>Source and update spatial datasets including Ordnance Survey data. This will include processing these before loading to our Enterprise geodatabase.</li><li>Assist with user licence management and administration.</li><li>Provide GIS related advice via meetings and documentation and assist users with the use of GIS and promote training.</li><li>Collaborative working with stakeholders to drive up data quality, currency and use of metadata.</li><li>Assist with Enterprise geodatabase schema management within SQL. Configuring the geodatabase to support user workflows and access.</li><li>Design, build and promote automated workflows with the use of Model builder, python or Fabric.</li></ul><h4>About you</h4>Essential:<ul><li>Qualification in GIS or related subject at degree or postgrad level, or significant experience in a similar role.</li><li>Experienced and accomplished user of Arc Pro desktop software, tools and extensions. Competent and demonstrable skills in use of ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS to include creation of content/web maps and admin of these systems.</li><li>Experience of supporting others in a GIS/Technical capacity.</li><li>Knowledge/experience of creating web applications.</li><li>Experience of maintaining and processing geospatial datasets including within relational databases.</li><li>Experience in building automated workflows and geoprocessing models using Model Builder, Python or equivalent.</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>Good numeracy, analytical and computer skills for data manipulation and management (MS Excel, Power BI, Power Query, VBA, MS Fabric)</li><li>Passion about continuing to update your GIS knowledge and skills in respect of new technology.</li><li>Ability to produce concise documentation for user support or system management.</li><li>Experience of programming languages and software development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, .NET).</li><li>Experience in GIS systems integration, development and support.</li><li>Knowledge of Ordnance Survey and PSGA related datasets and their licensing and use in map production.</li><li>Experience of managing projects to meet deadlines.</li></ul>You will be an enthusiastic, self- starting problem solver, with a passion for promoting the use of GIS and delivering GIS tools and applications to aid the council deliver its services. &nbsp;Having an analytical mind, and an eye for detail particularly for spotting patterns, correlations in data and enthusiasm for displaying and visualising data in a meaningful and insightful way to both internal audiences and external partners is essential.This role is varied and wide reaching, and you will be exposed to a wide range of data and information. The Spotlight Theatre are recruiting a Venue Technician with a sound bias. The Broxbourne Council venue, close to Hoddesdon High Street, has a host of first-class entertainment shows and events lined up with fun for all ages.
You will be responsible for the technical operation supporting The Spotlight’s busy events and entertainments programme.
You will ensure the smooth running of all technical aspects of productions (with a focus on sound), as well as support for a range of events including cinema, conferences and private functions. Duties involve rigging, setting up and operating sound/lighting and stage equipment according to the Venues busy programme.
This is a varied role including practical technical work and supervision of casual technicians. You will need to be great with people as well as having experience of large-scale technical work, including production experience.
You will have at least three years of experience working as a professional theatre technician in a multifunctional venue and have knowledge and experience of a broad range of technical theatre aspects such as sound, lighting, set building and stage management. You will have an in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety issues, good communication skills, and be a team player with the ability to work flexibly. Electrical installation and formal backstage technical qualifications are desirable.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
