<li>The post holder, as a Senior Lawyer, will have personal responsibility for a caseload of complex and non-complex legal work and act as subject matter expert, with appropriate support and supervision from a Head of Law</li>
<li>In the role of Senior Lawyer, you will lead and develop a team of Lawyers who have conduct of matters relating to Adult Social Care and other areas of law, where required, as well as help supervise and contribute to the development of our Trainee Solicitors</li>
<li>Our Senior Lawyers report to and support the Head of Law for our Adult Social Care and Litigation Team. You will support the Head of Law with the development of legal procedures and policies</li>
<li>Senior Lawyers also advise on legal matters relevant to public and local government law, including on executive and committee decision-making, information governance, and public law challenges. You may also be required to advise members and formal decision-making bodies, including Cabinet, Council, committees, and overview and scrutiny in respect of the team's specialism and as required by the Director and/or their Deputy Director</li>

St Helens Borough Council is looking to appoint a Legal Assistant within the Legal team. This is an exciting time to join the Council as it pursues its journey of transformation and regeneration of its town centres.
We are a busy, friendly and well supported legal team situated in the Merseyside area with good transport links to surrounding areas. We have embraced new ways of working and the role will predominantly feature hybrid working, offering a supportive environment, and a high level of flexibility, allowing staff to take control of their work/life balance.
We are looking for someone to play a key role in supporting and assisting the solicitors across the full range of children’s social care matters. You will have responsibility for case progression and compliance, bundle preparation, preparing legal documents and providing support to our client departments as required. You will be required to attend court with Counsel when required and take accurate notes of evidence/Judgments.
We are looking for flexible and adaptable individuals, ideally with some legal knowledge and experience. You will be highly motivated, with good communication and organisational skills. You will have the ability to manage your own case load and work to strict deadlines.

About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Compliance Officer to work within the Trading Standards Service.
Protecting our communities is at the core of Wirral Council and as a Trading Standards Regulatory Compliance Officer you will contribute to the effective delivery of the statutory service using a wide range of consumer protection legislation ensuring goods and services sold within the Borough are safe and legal.
About the Candidate:
The right candidate will assist in the delivery of the service by working with colleagues in Public Health to deliver a specialist project over an 18-month period linked to tackling illicit and illegal alcohol products in the Borough, age restricted sales and business and consumer education programme
