Salary: £58,461 – £60,573 pa inclusiveFixed-term contract and/or secondment opportunity for Ealing Council employees for one year Ealing Children’s Services is looking for a legal proceedings case manager, with a range of key skills, to support and embed compliance with cases subject to Public Law Outline and guidance regarding the timeliness of care proceedings for children.Our new case manager will work closely with social workers and managers, CAFCASS, the courts and all other stakeholders to ensure that:<ul><li>Care proceedings are timely</li><li>Planning for children is robust</li><li>Children achieve safety and permanence as early in their lives as possible. This will include securing progression on individual cases, as well as tracking all care proceedings cases and identifying and acting on trends regarding delay.</li></ul>Currently working as either a childcare social worker or lawyer, you will have:<ul><li>Considerable experience of care proceedings</li><li>The ability to negotiate and work collaboratively across a range of stakeholders</li><li>Excellent organisational, written and communication skills</li><li>Sound knowledge of child protection and permanency planning for children.</li></ul>You must have the right to work in the UK. As Planning Lawyer, you will join a friendly and supportive team and advise on all aspects of planning law and policy. You will have conduct of your own caseload and deal with varied and stimulating work on the cutting edge of planning law.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on planning law, policy, and procedures
- Draft, review, and negotiate planning agreements, including section 106 agreements
- Ensure the proper conduct of planning inquiries, including the provision of advocacy at public hearings
- Represent the council in planning committees on a rota basis. The planning committee occur in the evening
- Provide advice and assistance to other members of the legal team in respect of planning law matters.
This is a permanent, part time role, 29.5 hours per week.
