All of which means today’s Library Assistants need to be passionate about proactively helping people of all ages and from all backgrounds.</p><h4>About the role</h4><p>Library Assistant roles offer successful applicants the opportunity to get involved in a hugely varied range of activities.</p><ul>\n<li>You will be actively promoting and supporting the use of all of our library resources and helping customers to find the information that they need.</li>\n<li>You will help to deliver a programme of library activities and events, as well as supporting the Library Manager in all aspects of the day to day running of the library.</li>\n<li>In some libraries you will be involved in helping us to deliver services that are unique to that service point. This may include, for example,  assisting people to use our CreatorSpace resources, including 3D printers and virtual reality devices. </li>\n<li>All of our Library Assistant roles help to make a positive difference to people’s lives.</li>\n</ul><h4>About you</h4><p>We look for people who are friendly, confident, and outgoing. Who will be a reliable and flexible team player who is willing to engage with the full range of services, and events that libraries offer.</p><p>Essential:</p><ul>\n<li>Experience in delivering a high standard of Customer Service to members of the public.</li>\n<li>Strong communication skills</li>\n<li>Demonstrable time management skills in organising and prioritising.</li>\n<li>Competent ICT skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet and other computer-based resources.</li>\n<li>Evidence of working collaboratively with a team to achieve aims and objectives</li>\n</ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul>\n<li>Experience of meeting KPIs and other targets set by Team Leads</li>\n<li>Skill or experience in promoting events and services.</li>\n<li>Evidence of, or experience in, problem solving</li>\n<li>Ability to support members of the public with queries and use of IcT.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of Library Services.</li>\n</ul><p><em>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. We are not able to offer sponsorship at this time for this role.</em></p><p>Vacancies:</p><p>About the Library:</p><p><strong>Royston Library SG8 9JN 21 hours  </strong></p><p>Royston Library is a large Tier 2 library situated in a small market town.  As well as providing a frontline library and information service, events and activities regularly take place including Baby Rhyme Time, Storytime, LEGO Club and Tuesday chatter as well as a range of digital inclusion sessions, social events and theatre performances.  </p><p><strong>Berkhamsted Library HP4, 6.75 hours </strong></p><p>Berkhamsted library offers a range of events and activities for adults and children, such as Baby Rhyme Times, Toddler Tales, Lego club, IT Taster Sessions, author events and class visits. This includes singing rhymes and reading stories to young children and their carers on your own as well as supporting libraries in the local area.
