About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Developer Analyst to join its Customer and Digital Services team, supporting the technology requirements across the Council providing a technical, professional and customer focused service. The role will suit someone who has a background in application development and support, and analytical skills.
As a Developer Analyst you will work with colleagues to deliver digital solutions on our chosen platforms. This will include the design and build of business processes and online forms to deliver a consistent and excellent user experience, the support and maintenance of existing in-house and third-party systems and the implementation of integrations between applications, along with general database administration. You will also advise colleagues on how processes can be optimised using digital technology and assist in the migration of systems to new solutions, working closely with external suppliers.
About you:
To succeed as Developer Analyst, you will have the skills to deliver a range of dynamic solutions, and the drive to investigate and resolve technical challenges. You will have held a similar Developer Analyst or Application Support role, dealing with a broad range of business applications, online forms development and integrating systems using APIs and SFTP.&nbsp;&nbsp;You will have experience of database administration (ideally SQL Server) and an understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and applications, including Software as a Service. We are looking for a person to join the Design Team as a project architect to support the Capital Projects Service in the delivery of the Council's construction programmes. Candidates must be enthusiastic, good communicators and have excellent attention to detail, being able to manage multiple demands and workstreams arising from the service. What is the role? Sitting within the Housing, Neighbourhoods and Building Services directorate, you will be directly reporting to the Senior Architect and supporting the Team Leader and Principal Architect in the delivery of the Council's capital projects. The design team is a multi-disciplinary group including architects, structural engineers and landscape architects. We work closely with the building surveyors, quantity surveyor, and mechanical and electrical engineers within Capital Projects. The service uses both internal and external consultants as required to deliver project outcomes. The design team is a team of experienced and committed professionals who have gained a reputation for delivering high quality, sensitive, good value and thoughtful design solutions to meet our client's brief requirements. Most of our work comes from within the Authority, but we do also work with external clients such as the NHS, charities and Multi Academy Education Trusts. Our clients are drawn from across the organisation and include Children, Families and Education, Housing Neighbourhood and Building Services, Cultural, Leisure and Regulatory Services, Adult Social Care and Economy Transport and Planning. Our work can range in size from approximately £100K to over £10m and is procured traditionally or via a design and build route depending on our client's specific requirements. We use the suite of Autodesk products with Revit being our preferred software, Adobe Creative Suite and the Microsoft Office applications are also used by the team in their day-to-day roles. Four of our architects are Certified Passivhaus Designers and we use these principles as far as possible in our housing project. <h2>About the role</h2>The role of a Housing Service Adviser is to provide a first point of contact to Tenancy Services for tenants and leaseholders.You will have experience of communicating with customers from a range of backgrounds face to face, on the phone and digitally. You will be able to work in a high demand service, providing advice, support and signposting to council tenants. You will be skilled in discussing sometimes challenging issues in a supportive and empathic way. You will be skilled in keeping accurate records and in working with colleagues to achieve the best outcome for customers.You’ll be working in a directorate that is dedicated to empowering people from different communities and backgrounds to come together, live well and thrive, supported by our city-wide work on fairness, inclusion, and engagement. You’ll have an ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, an understanding of the needs of our different communities and residents, and the skills to ensure accessibility and inclusion in your work.We have a number of vacancies available, with some flexible working including working from home to support a positive work/live balance.
